Caught:Suspected candy bandit identified
Solvay (WSYR-TV) -- Thanks to help from NewsChannel 9 viewers, Solvay Police have identified the man who was caught on camera stealing a candy machine from a Geddes bank.
Mike Niedzialek with the Solvay Police Department said, “The gentleman was identified and was brought in for questioning about the incident. He has committed several other crimes in the area, so it’s good to get someone like that off the streets.”
Police say they’ll release his name once he’s officially charged in the case.
Caught on Camera: Man steals bank’s candy machine

Solvay (WSYR-TV) -- Solvay police are looking for a suspect they say stole a candy machine from the Geddes Federal Savings Bank on West Genesee Street.
The suspect (left) was caught on camera walking out with the bank’s big self-standing candy machine. Police say he carried the machine out the frond door and put it into his green Buick sedan.
