Syracuse (WSYR-TV) -- Authorities are looking for two women accused of assaulting a security officer and may be responsible for a number of thefts at Carousel Center in Syracuse.
Syracuse police are sharing surveillance video in hopes of catching the pair wanted for assault and robbery.
Police say the two women, pictured left, are frequent shoplifters who carry mace and aren’t afraid to use it if someone tries to stop them. They also say the two used mace on security officer at Carousel Center last month.
“These two women are probably responsible for a number of larcenies in the mall. We had another store tell us that they had identified these women as the same women who came into their store on a regular basis, and steal from the store and threaten employees with mace as they try to leave,” Syracuse Police Sergeant Tom Connellan said.
The women ran out of the mall and into an awaiting car. Police were able to track down and arrest the driver, who claimed to only know them by their first names – Mecca and Asia, or Kalaeigh.
“We don't know if either of these nicknames are right, so we're hoping people will look at this and hopefully give us a call,” Sgt. Connellan explained.
The two face a number of felony charges.
