Syracuse (WSYR-TV) -- Syracuse Police are counting on your tips to help them catch a trio of suspects – all caught on tape. One man may be even be linked to a bunch of burglaries on the Syracuse University (SU) campus.
Two other thefts happened at ATMs, where being careless can end up costing you.
First, Syracuse Police are trying to identify a man who was caught on camera at an ATM inside Wegman’s on Onondaga Boulevard where a customer left their wallet behind.
Sergeant Tom Connellan said, “It appears to us that he has taken that wallet that had cash, identification and credit cards, which makes this a grand larceny.”
Syracuse Police also want to find a man they say used the ATM at the M&T Bank on Eastwood, 30 seconds after a woman left her card in the machine.
“This suspect walks in and sees that it is still in the mode, ‘Do you want another transaction?’ He says yes, then he takes the money out of her account,” said Sgt. Connellan.
In addition, Syracuse Police need your help identifying a young man who walked into Syracuse University’s Shaw Hall September 4. No one at the dorm knows who he is and a student caught him rummaging through a room.
“He was in the building, quite a long time. Probably in a bunch of rooms, or trying to get into rooms,” Sgt. Connellan said. “We’ve had a lot of break-ins up there, so this couple possibly be someone who we are interested in talking to for other crimes up there.”
