Syracuse (WSYR-TV) – Syracuse Police are hoping the public can help them find a man who tried to rob a West Genesee Street Byrne Dairy location only to be fended off by a store clerk.

The incident occurred on Thursday, Aug. 16 around 1:53 p.m. The Byrne Dairy is located in a busy section of Syracuse's West End neighborhood near Rosie O'Grady's, a Keybank location, and the Brooklyn Pickle.

At the time of the incident, the suspect – who police believe is a 25 to 35-year-old light-skinned black or Hispancic male – was wearing A Yankee baseball cap, a white t-shirt, and three-quarter-length cargo shorts.

Perhaps most notably, according to police, the man was wearing flip flops and white socks along with a tank top t-shirt wrapped around his face.

The suspect wasn’t able to steal any money or merchandise during the incident.

Police are concerned that he may attempt to strike again after failing at the Byrne Dairy. Anyone with information should call Syracuse Police at (315) 442-5222.
