Nedrow (WSYR-TV) -- A 7-Eleven customer became the victim of a purse snatching Sunday night in the 7000 block of South Salina Street in Syracuse.
It’s a crime police say shoppers need be on the lookout for, especially at this time of the year.
Surveillance video shows the suspect moments after the incident just down the street from where the incident happened. Detectives believe the man acted alone, when he scoped out his victim in a Dollar Store parking lot in Nedrow.
Onondaga County Sheriff’s Detective Jon Seeber describes what’s seen on the tape, “She hears someone coming up behind her, she doesn't have time to turn around. The suspect grabs her purse from her arm.”
“It was a bold incident, where there are other people and it seems not to bother this individual. Thankfully the victim was not hurt,” Detective Seeber continued.
The suspect appears to be six feet tall, with a medium build and at the time was wearing a light colored pair of boots.
