Syracuse (WSYR-TV) -- Syracuse Police have released surveillance video taken just moments before 43-year-old Andrew Doyle was shot and killed back in November.
Doyle was shot to death outside of his apartment building last month on James Street. Police are hoping the surveillance video will help find his killer.
On the evening of November 4, just moments before his death, surveillance video shows Doyle walking in front of his apartment building in the 400 block of James Street. He had just been to a nearby convenience store, where police say he bought some beer. Shortly thereafter, a car enters the picture.
“We believe the suspects were stalking that victim. They were looking for him, they were in that driveway when he first walked up, then they followed him into that driveway,” Syracuse Police Sergeant Tom Connellan said.
Police say Doyle was shot and killed in that driveway. In the video, you can see a man running from the scene with the suspect vehicle right behind him.
It’s hard to tell what make and model the car is, but it had heavily tinted windows and after-market rims, according to police. In addition to identifying the driver of the car, police are looking for a woman seen walking down James Street at the time of the homicide. They believe she may have been a witness in the case.
“We believe she gets into the driveway, right around the time the shot is fired. She turns and looks, and the suspect runs right in front of her, and suspect vehicle goes right in front of her,” Sgt. Connellan said.
