Syracuse (WSYR-TV) – Syracuse Police are looking for a person who found someone’s credit card, went on a shopping spree and drained the victim's account.
The victim says he doesn’t know how he lost his credit card, but somehow it ended up in the hands of a man who was Caught on Tape using it in a Syracuse clothing store.
The victim did not know his card was missing until he checked the status of his account online.
Police say the man used the card at NY Sportswear and Sneakers on South Geddes Street on July 18.
“They cleared out his account, fully, and anyone who goes out and works for a living, it certainly is upsetting when someone else clears out your account,” said Syracuse Police Sgt. Gary Bulinski. “What we are hoping for is people might see this video and identify either the male or the female in this video.”
The credit card was used in six other places, including a Best Buy, two gas stations and a McDonald's Restaurant.
Anyone with information on the person who police are trying to identify or the incident should call Syracuse Police at (315) 442-5222.
