Syracuse (WSYR-TV) - A burglary spree ends with the arrest of a Fugitive. Floyd, Vanhooser, the 55-year-old man accused of breaking into six homes, reportedly told police he did see himself profiled as a fugitive at OnTheLookout.net.
The County Sheriff's Office says their Burglary Investigation Unit developed information on where he was staying along Erie Boulevard in Syracuse and began surveillance in the area. On July 7, he was spotted walking on Erie Boulevard and was taken into custody after a short foot pursuit.
Following his arrest, he confessed to committing six residential burglaries, including two in the Town of Salina. Detectives say he would drive around neighborhoods and pick unoccupied homes to break into during the day.
He was also wanted for violating his parole and for threatening his ex-girlfriend.

Syracuse (WSYR-TV) - Syracuse Police consider him to be a dangerous man, who threatened to kill a woman and may be breaking into homes. Now, police are asking for your help taking him off the streets.
55-year-old Floyd Vanhooser is wanted for violating his parole and for threatening his ex-girlfriend. Syracuse Police say a few days after he got out of state prison, he threatened to kill her.
"He was in prison, got out, and tempted to rekindle his relations with her. She didn't share that same desire, and he threatened her over the phone," said Sgt. John Savage of the Syracuse Police Warrant Squad.
They also want to question Vanhooser about some burglaries that have recently occurred in Eastwood. They're worried he might be supporting his drug habit by breaking into homes.
"He was in the area, as well as possibly possessing some items taken from those residences. He does have an extensive criminal history, and a number of felonies," said Sgt. Savage.
Vanhooser is 5' 5," weighs 130 pounds and has a medium build. He's been spotted on Syracuse's north side and there's information he is also known to frequent hotels along Carrier Circle.
Vanhooser's record includes 27 arrests for a variety of crimes, including burglary and resisting arrest. Anyone who has any information about where he might be hiding is asked to call the Syracuse Police Warrant Squad on their confidential tip line at 442-5230.
