East Syracuse (WSYR-TV) - Just a few hours after being profiled at NewsChannel 9's
OnTheLookout.net, a fugitive accused of stealing about $30,000 worth of copper and other metals from a business in DeWitt was arrested by the Fugitive Task Force.
Bill Simmons, 47, was previously indicted for the theft, but hadn't answered to the criminal mischief charges because police couldn't find him.
Within hours of his profile appearing on The Morning News and
OnTheLookout.net, investigators received calls from people in Oswego, Syracuse and DeWitt. Several addresses were checked, and information was found that Simmons worked for a temp service. Through interviews, they learned he was working in East Syracuse.
There, investigators tracked him down and arrested him without incident. He is currently being housed in the Onondaga County Justice Center.
This is arrest 209 for
