Syracuse (WSYR-TV) – A fugitive serving Federal probation for forgery had escaped the authorities, but not for long. On Thursday, a caller to the Onondaga County 911 center said he noticed a man on Syracuse’s West Side fitting the description of NewsChannel 9’s Fugitive of the Week, Arsenio Sepulveda.
Syracuse Police were sent to the location – the corner of West Genesee and North Geddes streets – and they closed in on Sepulveda.
After a brief foot chase, police caught him and he was taken to the Onondaga County Justice Center. He was scheduled for an appearance in Federal Court on Friday.
Sepulveda was serving probation for forging $140,000 in checks. In order to elude police, his ankle bracelet had been removed.
According to police, Sepulveda had a history of selling food stamps for cash.
