Syracuse (WSYR-TV) - The Fugitive Task Force is On the Lookout for a West Side woman who was caught burglarizing a home but disappeared before she could be sentenced.
Viola Girvin and her husband were caught trying to break into a West Side home. They ran away from Syracuse Police but were caught and indicted.
While her husband is in state prison, Girvin has disappeared. Members of her family told the Fugitive Task Force that although they have talked to Girvin, they don't know where she is hiding.
Girvin told them that she knows she's wanted but she refuses to go back to jail. She's been arrested 43 times and convicted 25 times on theft related charges.
"It's our opinion she does not have a viable way of making money, so she is probably up to no good, so we're asking your viewers at home to take a good look at her picture and see if she's perhaps been in their neighborhood," said Joe Ciciarelli of the Fugitive Task Force.
The 41-year-old woman is 5-foot-4 and 140 pounds with a medium build. She has brown hair and brown eyes.
While her last known address was located on the city's West Side, she has been arrested in the past in LaFayette, Elbridge, and northern Onondaga County.
