Syracuse (WSYR-TV) – One week ago, we profiled Fugitive of the Week John Lasnicki. He was caught just a few hours later for On The Lookout arrest number 71.
Now, police are hoping you can help bump the total up to 72, with the capture of this week’s Fugitive of the Week, who has a lengthy criminal past that includes robbery and burglary.
Jeffery Reeves, 24, “has a very violent past, and has had numerous arrests, I think over 37,” says Fugitive Task Force supervisor Joe Ciciarelli.
In 2004, Reeves was found guilty of robbing and striking his victim in the head with a handgun on Tully Street. He was convicted of first degree robbery and got a six year prison sentence; this year, he was released on parole. He got out February 3.
“His success rate with parole has been pretty bad, considering that he only spent about two weeks on parole before he basically disappeared,” says Ciciarelli.
Before he was sent away to prison, Reeves spent a lot of time on Syracuse's north side. So has he returned to the north side to reconnect with his old friends and family? The Fugitive Task Force says probably not.
“Mr. Reeves, while in prison all those years, met other people. We don't know who he met, so it's going to take us time to track that. So we're really looking to try and pinpoint Reeves or his last location,” Ciciarelli says.
Jeffery Reeves is 5’ 9”, has a medium build and weighs 150 pounds, and is considered to be very dangerous.
