Syracuse (WSYR-TV) - He goes by the nickname “Poli”, and he's known to police in Syracuse.
The Fugitive Task Force is asking you to be On The Lookout for a drug suspect who will face additional charges, once they find him.
Twenty-one-year-old Jesse Smith was already on probation when Syracuse police say they caught him with drugs in the 100 block of Huron Street on Syracuse's south side.
He was in a car; police say some bagged cocaine was in his lap. The case was sent to drug treatment court with the intention of getting Smith some help for his addiction; now, he's wanted for assault and for breaking probation rules.
“At this point, we can't find Mr. Smith,” says Task Force Supervisor Joe Ciciarelli. “We've checked several addresses on Syracuse's south side and we haven't been able to pinpoint a location where he could be.”
For four weeks in a row, you've helped the Fugitive Task Force pinpoint a location for every fugitive we've profiled, and the team hopes your tips will come through for them again.
“We have 20 people assigned to our unit and we cover a large area and multiple counties. The viewers’ assistance makes them fugitive investigators … it's a program that's gone beyond what we've expected,” Ciciarelli says.
Smith is known to carry a gun; his last known address was West Corning Avenue. He is 5’8”, weighs around 200 pounds and has a medium build.
