Syracuse (WSYR-TV) -- Detectives are looking to heat up a cold case and they need your help. They're asking you to be on the lookout for a man who's been wanted for more than a year.
Detectives believe Jose Rodriguez skipped town not long after Syracuse Police spotted him with seven bags of crack cocaine and packaging materials on Syracuse's west side in 2008.
"It appears by the investigation, police had him under surveillance and he was dealing narcotics. He was the target of an investigation," Fugitive Task Force Supervisor, Joe Ciciarelli said.
New information has investigators thinking Rodriguez might be back in town.
"Just recently, investigators came up with information that he might be back on the west side, so we're looking for the viewers to help to see if we can finally pinpoint a location for him," Ciciarelli continued. "Mr. Rodriguez has had very little contact with police, so he's either uprooted himself and moved away from the area and has come back, if this is him, or he's made a new life and stayed out of trouble."
But with an outstanding warrant, his troubles in Syracuse haven't disappeared.
If you know where police can find Rodriguez, call the Task Force tip line at 473-7625. Rodriguez (pictured) is described as 5-foot-8-inches tall, 225 pounds and has the name Joseph tattooed on his left forearm.
