Syracuse (WSYR-TV) - The Fugitive Task Force believes Joseph Santy is still living in Syracuse, and they're asking for the public's help tracking him down. They say he has a criminal past and is wanted now on a weapons charge.
Santy, 31, was caught up in a gun battle on Dudley St., on Syracuse's West Side, on a May afternoon. Police say voices were raised and guns were drawn.
"Mr. Santy was ultimately hit during this gun battle and was found a block away from the scene," said Fugitive Task Force Supervisor Joe Ciciarelli. "We understand there were multiple casings from multiple weapons. The element of danger is up there and it's a danger to the public."
Additionally, Santy has previous arrests on assault and drug charges.
Most recently officers searched for Santy in the Tully Street area and they believe he may be living on the North Side now. He is described as 5'11” and weighs 165 pounds.
