Syracuse (WSYR-TV) – This week’s Fugitive of the Week has been caught less than 24-hours after appearing on NewsChannel 9’s On The Lookout.
Deputy U.S. Marshals described 36-year-old Jeremy Rasmussen - a convicted rapist - as a dangerous man.
Deputies say Rasmussen was taken into custody Wednesday afternoon after a Syracuse Police Department Bike Patrol Officer spotted him in Franklin Square Park and recognized him from the On The Lookout report.
Rasmussen was wanted for violating his supervised release and deputies say he has been arrested more than 20 times for crimes including robbery, rape and kidnapping.
Syracuse Police turned Rasmussen over to U.S. Marshals and he was arraigned in federal court.
Rasmussen is currently being held in the Cayuga County Jail.
