Syracuse (WSYR-TV) – A parking lot attendant who violated the probation he’d been sentenced to after he was found guilty of stealing parking-lot fees is back in police custody.
Darin Sibley, 34, was found at a home on Lind Avenue in Mattydale after police received a tip from a NewsChannel 9 viewer.
Sibley was found guilty of grand larceny after he pocketed approximately $1,300 in parking fees while working as a parking attendant in Downtown Syracuse.
Former parking attendant who pocketed parking fees sought for violating his probation: Fugitive of the Week
March 12, 2013
Syracuse (WSYR-TV) -- Parking is expensive, but this week’s fugitive found a way to profit from it by taking your money to park and then pocketing it.
Police say 34-year-old Darin Sibley broke the law and now he’s broken probation rules. They’re hoping you can help find him.
Sibley worked as a downtown parking lot attendant, where police say he would collect and then pocket parking fees totaling up to $1,300 before getting caught. Instead of sending him to jail he was sentenced to probation for grand larceny.
“His probation was not successful. He only met with the probation officer twice and now he’s disappeared,” explained Fugitive Task Force Supervisor Joe Ciciarelli.
Sibley (pictured) is 5’6” tall, with a medium build and weights 200 pounds. He has brown eyes and black hair.
“The last known address we have for Mr. Sibley is over on Elm Street. He has since moved out of that residence and we're looking for any direction we can to take him into custody,” Ciciarelli said.
