Syracuse (WSYR-TV) – Police have arrested a man who was wanted for assault.
Robert Walker, 45, went into hiding after allegedly assaulting his girlfriend in July.
Police were looking for him until a tip from a NewsChannel 9 viewer led them to the man, who they say struck his girlfriend with a metal grate from a stove in the kitchen.
Walker had 35 arrests – including eight felonies – before this most recent run-in with the law.

Syracuse (WSYR-TV) -- Syracuse Police are asking for your help tracking down a man wanted for assault. They say his capture will bring comfort to a woman who suffered a terrible beating.
This week’s fugitive is 45-year-old Robert Walker. Walker, also known as “Ratco,” has kept a low profile since July. That's when police say he went into hiding after assaulting his girlfriend.
“He grabbed a metal grate off the stove in the kitchen, struck her over the head a couple of times with that, causing lacerations on her forehead and brow,” said Syracuse Police Sergeant John Savage.
Police say Walker has made it known that he’s not going to turn himself in.
Walker has 35 prior arrests, eight of which were felonies and he’s been in state prison, according to police.
Walker is 6’2” tall and weighs 180 pounds.
