Fugitive of the Week: Wanted for assaulting his girlfriend
April 12
Syracuse (WSYR-TV) - Victor Rivera is accused of striking his now ex-girlfriend in her lower back with a two-by-four the day after Christmas. Police say he's evaded them since then.
A warrant for the 32-year-old came out in January.
"Obviously those blows with a two by four could have easily caused serious physical injury if he had struck her in a vital area. He is well aware that he is wanted by police," said Sgt. John Savage of the Syracuse Police Warrant Squad.
Police say Rivera could very well be living on Syracuse Northside. There were recent reported sightings of him on Kirkpatrick Street and John Street.
Rivera has a medium build. He's 5' 9" tall and weighs 135 pounds.
"He has been known to wear his hair long. Either loose, or down onto his shoulders or in a bun tucked up behind his head," said Sgt. Savage.
Additonally, he has a number of tattoos on his arm and his neck. The name Katrina on one side, and the name Lonzetta on the other.
There's also a separate bench warrant for Rivera related to a forgery case.
Anyone with information about Rivera's whereabouts is asked to call 442-5230. All calls will remain confidential.
