Syracuse (WSYR-TV) - Police are asking you to be On The Lookout for a mother and daughter duo accused of teaming up to evade charges.
According to the police, Tatyana Rouse was arrested for shoplifting in January at Carousel Center. Police say she gave them a fake name and lied about her age, saying she was 15. When police called her mother, she also lied and gave them the same fake name and age.
The mother, Tonya Rouse, is facing felony forgery charges and what started as a simple petit larceny case for 18-year-old Tatyana has now grown more complicated and costly.
“These are crimes that really do affect all of us. You might not think it affects you directly, but going back to the larceny, and now falsifying records, it's costly the courts and police time to track these people down, we're hoping viewers can help us out with this,” said St. John Savage of the Fugitive Task Force.
Police initially had a South Side address for the two women. Tonya Rouse received benefits at that address. She has since been evicted from the South Side residence. New information indicates the pair may have moved to the North Side.
Tonya Rouse is 5'5" and 121 pounds. Tatyana Rouse is 5'1" and weighs 130 pounds.
Anyone with information on the two should call police at (315) 442-5230.
