Syracuse (WSYR-TV) - A woman allegedly interrupted during an attempted burglary at a Mattydale apartment, and then went missing, surrendered to court Wednesday.

Police say Rhynisha Cushman's burglary was interrupted when the tenant came home and found her hiding in a closet. The tenant reportedly recognized Cushman and chased her out before calling police.

Cushman was scheduled to appear in court to face the burglary charge in December, but did not show up. Her family filed a missing persons report.

Cushman contacted her aunt after seeing herself featured as a Fugitive of the Week, and reunited with her to take care of the warrant and ease her family's concerns.

Mattydale (WSYR-TV) - Police are putting Central New Yorkers On the Lookout for a suspected burglar whose family has reported her missing.

Police say Rhynisha Cushman's burglary was interrupted at a Mattydale apartment complex on Roxboro Circle when the tenant came home and found her hiding in the closet. She recognized Cushman, chased her out and called police. Cushman was supposed to appear in court on the burglary charge back in December, but did not show up. Her family has filed a missing persons report.

"They just don't know where she is and they would like her to come home. There's concern over this issue - the sooner we can get this resolved, the better off she will be," said Fugitive Task Force Supervisor Joe Ciciarelli said.

At the time of the burglary, Cushman was living in Mattydale. Earlier last year she was living in Syracuse's Valley section.

"We feel she could be anywhere. She could be in the city of Syracuse. She could be out in the county. She has friends throughout the area.  She might just be walking in the mall, so if anybody spots her, please give us a call," Ciciarelli said.

Cushman is 5-foot-1 and 160 pounds.  Anyone who recognizes her should call the Fugitive Task Force at 473-7625.
