Syracuse (WSYR-TV) – Two men have been indicted by a grand jury in relation to an incident in which a Baldwinsville man was severely injured during an alleged hammer attack at a party in April.
26-year-old LeVaughn McArthur of Syracuse and 29-year-old Richard Pitcher of Manlius were both indicted on charges of burglary, assault, and criminal possession of a weapon.
According to police, Pitcher forced his way into the home of a 33-year-old man during a gathering at a residence on McHarrie Street in Baldwinsville on April 9. They accused Pitcher of striking the victim in the head, causing a skull fracture that required surgery.
The victim's identity has not been released.
Second man arrested in Baldwinsville hammer attack

BALDWINSVILLE, NY (WSYR-TV) – Police have caught the second man involved in the assault of a 33-year-old during a party in Baldwinsville. Police say the victim was hit in the head with a hammer.
Baldwinsville Police arrested LeVaughn McArthur, 26, of Syracuse, for his involvement in the assault. He’s charged with assault, burglary, attempted robbery, criminal possession of a weapon and criminal mischief.
Police say he and Richard Pitcher, 29, of Warners, forced their way into party on McHarrie Street on April 9 and then hit a man in the head with a hammer, causing a skull fracture.
Pitcher was arrested three days later on April 12. Police say he came to the house that night to see the woman hosting the party.
Investigators say the victim is still in the hospital at this time. His identity is not being released.
One assault suspect caught, another still unidentified

Richard Pitcher, 29, of Warners, was arraigned on charges of assault, burglary, attempted robbery, criminal possession of a weapon and criminal mischief.
Pitcher and another still unidentified suspect allegedly forced their way into a party at a home on McHarrie Street in Baldwinsville at about 3:11 a.m. on April 9. There, they attacked the 33-year-old victim, causing a skull fracture that required him to be hospitalized.
After his arraignment, Pitcher was sent to the Justice Center Jail in lieu of $100,000 cash bail or $200,000 bond. His return to court is scheduled for April 20.
The unidentified suspect is described only as a black male. Baldwinsville Police say they are still attempting to determine the identity and location of that suspect.
