Auburn Police looking for 2 suspects after cell phone robbery

Auburn (WSYR-TV) – Auburn Police are looking for two suspects after a male victim was robbed of his cell phone at gunpoint.

The incident occurred on Seymour Street near North Street on Wednesday shortly before 10:15 p.m.

Police were told that a suspect approached the victim and asked to use his cell phone as he was completing a call. When the victim handed him the phone, the suspect pulled out a gun and threatened him before running away. Police were told the suspect ran west on Seymour Street and then north on North Street.

A second suspect joined the man with the gun as he was running away.

Police say the armed suspect was described as a dark-skinned black male who appeared to be 20 years old, 5-foot-5, and heavyset. During the incident, he was reportedly wearing a gray sweatshirt, dark colored sweatpants, and a black hat.

The second suspect was described a lighter skinned black male who is 5-foot-10. He was reportedly wearing an orange baseball cap.
