Car break-ins investigated in DeWitt

DeWitt (WSYR-TV) -- You may want to avoid hiding your holiday gifts in your car. Car prowlers are at it again -- this time in DeWitt.

At least seven thefts from vehicles were reported in DeWitt neighborhoods and there may have been more, as some victims may not have filed police reports.

The thefts occurred on River Birchfield Road and GreenBank Road. Items that were taken include clothing, GPS devices and radar detectors.

The reports have indicated that some vehicles were locked and some were unlocked. There was no damage to the vehicles that were reported locked.

Police are reminding you to keep your cars locked and to remove all valuables.
