Auburn (WSYR-TV) - A 17-year-old from Auburn has been arrested for breaking in and causing damage to a building that is undergoing renovations.
Michael Joseph Wilson was arrested Wednesday. He is accused of causing damage to the building at 201 North Street in Auburn that is being converted into condo-style apartments. Police say he caused more than $41,000 of damage to windows and flooring.
Wilson is accused of entering the building on two consecutive days and causing damage during both.
Police also say that a 13-year-old co-defendant was involved with damaging the building on one of the days. The case against the juvenile will be referred to Cayuga County Family Court.
During the investigation, police say they also linked Wilson to a burglary at a Rochester Street home in the City of Auburn. He is accused of stealing prescription medication from the home and selling it on the street. Wilson was also charged with this crime Wednesday.
Charges against Wilson include felonies for the damage to the building on North Street, burglary on Rochester Street, and criminal sale of the stolen medications.
He was arraigned in Auburn City Court and sent to the Cayuga County Jail on $5,000 cash bail.

Auburn, New York (WSYR-TV) – 51 brand new windows were broken Saturday on a job site, and Auburn Police are asking for help to find suspects.
On Saturday, October 3, police say a worker arrived to a job site at 201 North Street and found four windows broken. The worker left the site about an hour later, and when he returned at 12:00 p.m. he found almost every window on the lower half of the window had been broken. The property is being renovated and converted into condo-style apartments.
The total estimated value of the 51 broken Anderson-brand windows is nearly $40,000.
