I hate to bring up old news, but all the posts that said no one should pass judgment early, well, for all you naysayers..................................... Your parents school taxes for his salary...$7 per 1,000........Your parents state taxes for his crime.....$28,000 per year. Looking for free tutoring in math from a work release felon... priceless.

Armed robbery should have some real punishment attached to the conviction. I guess there must be a lot of pressure to reduce overcrowding in prisons.

This didn't have to happen... the next teachers contract should provide relief for a teachers gambling debt.[/sarc] Seriously I sympathize with his family.

Albany, State Ed dept reviews these cases as soon as there is a conviction. Wish they could run a background check on the students as well. That would go a long way toward weeding out the classroom and making schools safer for those students interested in actually learning something.
