DeWitt (WSYR-TV) – The owner of a jewelry store that was burglarized last week is offering a reward for information that will lead to the arrest and conviction of the people who stole from him; but the reward comes with a catch.

Jewelry on James owner Tom Marini said he will give $1,000 for information that will lead to the suspects’ incarceration, but he insists that half the money be donated to the Wounded Warrior project. The Wounded Warrior project supports veterans who have suffered severe injuries serving their country.

"I’m trying to help them (police) any way I can. The bottom line is we have to stand up for ourselves, I'm hoping the reward I'm offering will help the case,” Marini said.

Last week, three suspects were caught on surveillance video smashing Marini’s store’s windows and swiping jewelry. Both the DeWitt and Syracuse Police Departments believe the three were involved in six burglaries in both the city and the county that night.

They say the suspects made off with $5,000 worth of jewelry from Jewelry on James alone.

Anyone with information should call Syracuse Police at (315) 442-5222 or DeWitt Police at 632-0071.
