Morrisville, Madison Co. (WSYR-TV) – Campus officials at SUNY Morrisville tell NewsChannel 9 at least two students were robbed during a power outage last week that affected the campus, and much of Southern Madison County.
It happened last Wednesday night; the first incident took place around 9pm, the second around 9:15pm.
In both incidents, a group of four to six men dressed in dark clothes and wearing hoods took personal belongings like cell phones and ID cards from the students on campus.
The first incident happened between Crawford and Onondaga Halls; the second incident occurred in the Mohawk Hall Service Area.
The incident is still under investigation, according to a campus spokesperson. They say University Police have some very strong leads, and are making good progress in the case. They believe the same group of men was involved in both robberies.
The University wants to remind students that they can use the Silent Witness Program on their website if they have any info on the incidents. You can also call University Police at 684-6410.
