New Hartford (WSYR-TV) – Police have arrested and charged four Outback Steakhouse employees, including one manager, with grand larceny. Police say the workers were regularly deleting cash register transactions and splitting the cash amongst themselves.
New Hartford Police say Outback’s corporate offices contacted them back in April when they discovered over $20,000 in deleted cash receipts.
After a 5 week investigation, it was determined that a conspiracy by several employees, including one of the store managers, had in fact been going on for several months. Police say the workers involved were regularly deleting cash register transactions and splitting the cash amongst themselves.
The following were arrested and charged with Grand Larceny in the 3rd Degree – a Class D Felony:
Sean Ward, 33, of New Hartford, Erin Williams, 27, of Westmoreland, Raymond Scaramuzzino, 28, of Utica and Tricia Irving, 33, of Poland were all charged with 3rd degree grand larceny.
The four were arraigned and released. They will appear back in court at a later date.
Police say the investigation is continuing and more arrests are pending.
