Police On The Lookout after two possibly related armed robberies in SU area
Syracuse (WSYR-TV) – Syracuse Police are investigating two armed robberies of Syracuse University students that happened within minutes of each other.
Police say the first robbery occurred on Thursday at about 8:55pm in the 1000 block of Comstock Avenue.
A Syracuse University student reported that he was approached by three black males and two of them displayed a handgun and knife.
The victim 's money and cell phone were stolen and was not injured during the incident.
Police say the three suspects were last seen running westbound into the Oakwood Cemetery.
The second incident was an attempted robbery that occurred five minutes later at the intersection of Stratford Street and Sumner Street.
Three SU students reported that they were approached by three black males who asked for change. Police say when the students responded that they had no money, two of the males displayed a handgun and knife.
No property was stolen and the students were not injured during the incident according to police.
Police believe the incidents are related.
