Syracuse (WSYR-TV) -- Syracuse Police are investigating an armed robbery that happened at the Citgo gas station on Erie Boulevard East just before 4 p.m. on Wednesday.

An investigation revealed the armed man entered the store, demanded money, but was denied by the clerk. That’s when police say he fired a shot and ran from the scene.

The suspect is described as a black man in his mid-40s to early 50s, about 5'6" tall, with a medium build. He was wearing a black knit hat, a black bandanna over his face, a blue and white checkered shirt under a black coat, dark blue jeans and black shoes at the time of the incident, police said.

No one was hurt and the suspect got away with nothing.

Anyone with information about this robbery is asked to contact the Syracuse Police Department at 315-442-5222.
