DeWitt (WSYR-TV) – DeWitt Police are investigating an incident in which a woman’s wallet and smart phone were stolen at a Marshall’s location on Erie Boulevard on March 23.

According to the police, the victim was shopping in the store when she was approached by a female who asked her about a sweater she was considering purchasing. Shortly after the conversation, the victim noticed that her wallet and iPhone were missing from her purse.

Police believe the female distracted the victim while another person pilfered the items from her purse.

Police are looking for a female as well as a male. They say the victim’s credit cards were used to make more than $4,000 worth of purchases from the Apple store at Carousel Center.

Anyone with information should call DeWitt Police at (315) 449-3640 or email tips@townofdewitt.com.
