Police investigate shooting on South Avenue Saturday

SYRACUSE, NY (WSYR-TV) - Syracuse Police officers are investigating a shooting that left a 23-year-old man with an injury to his leg Saturday night.

Police say at about 8:00 p.m., Joshua Scott was walking near the intersection of South Avenue and Rockland Avenue when a bullet hit his thigh.  The wound is not life threatening.

He was taken to Community Hospital in a private vehicle before police arrived on scene.

Police say Scott could not give officers any suspect description.

Police ask anyone who has information on the shooting to call them at 315-442-5222. All calls will be kept strictly confidential.
