Manlius (WSYR-TV) – Manlius Police remain On the Lookout for suspects who threw a pumpkin through a windshield in November, and they strongly suspect that they are teenagers. While it may have been a prank, it could have seriously injured or even killed the victim.
Donna Rogers was on green lakes road near Alverna Heights road on November 5th, heading to work, around 2:00 in the morning. She saw headlights coming toward her, and seconds later, she was covered in glass. A pumpkin had been hurled at her car and had smashed through her windshield.
Investigators have been working on this case ever since, but haven't been able to come up with much. They did find out there was another incident that night in Fayetteville, in the 300 block of Walnut Street. In that case, however, the car was parked, no one was inside and no one got hurt.
“Nothing more than a gut feeling tells me it was kids, younger teenagers,” Gallup said. “Obviously the vehicles were traveling at a higher rate of speed and in opposite directions. It could have been a lot worse than it turned out to be.”
The investigation now is at a standstill. Gallup says that the case needs someone to step forward and talk to police.
