Syracuse (WSYR-TV) – Onondaga County Sheriff Kevin Walsh introduced a new way for people living in the county to identify people who are wanted on active criminal warrants.
The
Sheriff’s personal website now has a new feature that allows people to search the names of people who are wanted by the Onondaga County Sheriff’s Office on criminal arrest warrants. There are presently more than 1,200 active criminal warrants at the sheriff’s office.
The
Active Warrants page shows the name of the fugitive, their last known address, age, sex, race, height, weight and the charges named in the warrant. In many cases, a photo is also available of the wanted person.
The website only includes active criminal warrants from the sheriff’s office; other police agency information is not listed.
People can contact the Sheriff’s Office Warrants Investigation Unit from the webpage and submit information about fugitives with active warrants. Anyone with any information about a fugitive can call the Sheriff’s Office by phone at 473-7625 or
use the e-mail link on the website.
