Police release identity, photos of YMCA stabbing suspectWednesday, Oct. 16Syracuse (WSYR-TV) -- Syracuse Police have identified and released photos of the suspect accused in the assault and stabbing of a downtown YMCA resident this past weekend.
Police are looking for 50-year-old English Rogers, who they believe
entered 41-year-old Matthew Jefski's room at the YMCA and slashed his throat on Saturday.
Jefski remains in the hospital in critical condition, police said.
Rogers (pictured) is described as a black male, 5’11 tall, 235 lbs.
Rogers was also a resident at the YMCA on Montgomery Street in downtown Syracuse. He is also known as Amos Rogers and Leverne Rogers.
Police warn that Rogers should be considered armed and dangerous. Anyone with information on his whereabouts should call the Syracuse Police Criminal Investigations Division at 442-5222 or call 911 immediately.
