Teenager in serious condition after shooting in Syracuse
SYRACUSE, NY (WSYR-TV) - A teenage male is being treated for a gunshot wound Sunday night after Syracuse Police say he was shot in what may have been a drive-by shooting.
Police say 16-year-old Jamar Sheppard was in the 600 block of West Newell Street when he was shot at least twice at about 8:40 p.m.
He was taken to Upstate University Hospital and was rushed into surgery. He is in serious condition.
Police say witnesses told them the shots were fired from a vehicle last seen headed toward Valley Drive.
