The NYS budget has been approved but for weeks there was a lot of talk about pay freezes and whether teachers and other state employees should consider taking one. In order to have an opinion on the matter, I think it's important to have an idea of what the people who get paid with our tax dollars are actually making.
www.SeeThroughNY.net compiles payroll information for all state employees. From the governor all the way down to the people who clean the state capitol-if they get paid with tax dollars, their salaries should be on this website. Teachers, mayors, lawmakers, plow drivers, custodians, ect--they are all on there.
In addition to salaries you can also look at state contract, state office expenditures and pensions.
