Syracuse (WSYR-TV) – You might be wondering about the legitimacy of websites that claim to deliver the inside story on upcoming Black Friday sales. Are these sites legitimate?

Stores once objected to Black Friday websites that leaked ads for their special post-Thanksgiving Day sales.

Now, however, many retailers play right into it. Two legitimate sites are BFAds.net and BlackFriday.info. Both sites obtain advance copies of ads, often from the publishers that print them.

The sites may look exhaustive, but there will always be thousands of items on sale and you’ll want to double and triple check with the actual retailers when you hit the stores or go online. Shoppers should pick up actual printed ads if possible in order to make sure nothing has changed.

Shoppers should mostly consider Black Friday websites as tools to help them plan.
