Auburn (WSYR-TV) – A Curves location Auburn recently closed and some members are wondering what recourse they may have for cash refunds on paid-up memberships that are now useless.  We heard from one woman whose aunt had 5 months left on her membership.

A note was left on the door of the Finger Lakes Mall location along Routes 5 and 20 saying that the location had closed. No warning was given to the members.

A corporate spokeswoman told NewsChannel 9 that members can transfer to any other Curves location without paying extra fees.  The closest one to Auburn is 18 miles away.

Existing members can also open a club themselves, at a very reasonable cost, according to the company. Each Curves club is independently owned and operated.

Those in Auburn who want a cash refund, and can't get it from the owner of the now-closed fitness center, can contact the state Attorney General’s office and file a complaint, according to Curves’ corporate office.
