What gets me is the fact that ALL insurance companies preach to obese people and cigarette smokers, but how many of them practice what they preach? How many obese people work for insurance companies? How many smokers work for insurance companies? When they can PROVE to me that they are ALL practicing what they are preaching, then I will listen to their hype. They should be setting the example, not just raising rates yearly to line their pockets. Until they do that - KISS OFF!!!!

They posted the same rate increase last year and the year before that. How can this be legal??? I work for a pretty good size company and last year we left goold excellus BCBS. thank goodness! not that our new insurance plan is any better we now have to meet a $2000.00 deductable before we have coverage in full but that was for 2009. I can only imagine whats in store for 2010... I suppose I should be thankful I hava JOB & INSURANCE BENEFITS RIGHT?

I can't understand why no one brings up the fact that the top execs in BC/BS get million dollar raises every year. It is posted in the Post Standard yearly. They are a non-profit business. I guess we know where the profits are going!! Why is a business that deals with a public commodity allowed to give their execs these outlandish raises. Where is the Health Care crisis??? It's with the insurance companies. I work in a Dr's office where my job is calling insurance companies for patient's claims, fighting to get them paid. You should interview some Dr's billing offices and let them tell you how it is to deal with Blue Cross Blue Shield and other large insurance companies. Executives in Health Insurance companies should not be allowed to get such absurd raises off the backs of the working people trying to make ends meet.

Yup, there goes my 3% raise this year and the one after that and one after that. Where does it end..If we are not getting bent over at the pumps or taxes its a raise in insurance..Just love our gov't for helping us out.....

In it for kids, that is just not true, you need to do your research, there is alot that you obviously do not know.

They will raise rates and deny more. They are in it as business, not nearly as concerned about their clients as they should be.

omg i dont even get a raise every year to cover this and my co pay is 40 dollors guess i wont be going to the drs even though i have high blood pressure

jay22 - 11/3/2009 7:57 AM
This is where the government could do some good and put the brakes on to this. In the last 6 months everything has had an increase or new tax added on. The co pay is $20.00 each time!!
