This is a followup to my 11/26/2008 comment. I received my check from Cash 4 Gold today. I am happy with the amount they sent. It would have been nice to have received it in one check the first time, but in the end they did want to make me happy. All in all, I probably would not use this service again, knowing what I know now.

i brought my $1200 diamond ring to the shop that advertizes on w genessee st across from p&c plaza and all the guy did was talk it down and insult me ..he didnt want to give me anything reasonable. insulted my now ex husband by saying he lied to me about the real worth. i didnt tell him i was there when it was bought. i left steaming. it doesnt eat much ..i will hold on to it.

This type of business is great if the gold items are stolen. Think about it, any person with a brain in their head is going to check around for the best price. But, if the items are stolen what better way to get rid of them. Local shops might have been warned that a robbery happened where jewelry was taken, so the thief won't want to take the chance of getting caught. Instead, they send it though the mail where there are no questions asked.

If it sounds too good to be true, then--- it more than likely, it is not true. Get a grip people! There are other ways to " sell your gold " or whatever. Be a defensive driver in life, look down the road now and again to see if there are dangers ahead.

If your that lazy and have to risk your gold sending it through the mail, (Keep in mind a lot of people do this close to the holidays when the USPS hires casuals and "Lost Mail" claims increase) then you get what you get. There are SEVERAL stores and yes even so called "pawn" shops that can buy your gold, Just be Careful if you decide you want it back because Pawn Shops are not legal in Upstate Ny and your merchandise is put up for sale ASAP.

Yeah I agree with Max and gixxer...ads like these are very deceiving and you should never fall for these types of things. If you were really going to get all the money for that gold as you would in a pawn shop, then how do they pay for all these national TV ads? You can't go one commercial break without seeing one. They're obviously giving the consumer a small percentage of the money and pocketing the rest. It's always better to do these types of things in person rather than the 'easy way.'
