Syracuse, New York (WSYR-TV) - If you've been called from someone looking for a donation for a room reserved for soldiers at the airport, watch out. It's a scam.

The caller claims to a member of the group who runs the military courtesy room at Hancock Airport.

They allege they're raising money for the upkeep of the room and they ask you to donate over the phone using your credit card.  But this is a scam; the folks who actually run the room tell us they never ask for support over the phone -- they only accept donations on their secure website and through the mail.

So if you get one of these calls, just hang up.
