Syracuse (WSYR-TV) - The State Attorney General has just banned a debt settlement agency from doing business in New York.

Nationwide Asset Services is accused of ripping off nearly 2,000 people across the state.

They charged customers hundreds -- if not thousands -- of dollars, promising they could help lower debt, but didn't deliver the majority of the time.

Nationwide Asset Services is now banned from doing business in New York unless they post a $500,000 bond with the AG’s office.
