Syracuse (WSYR-TV) - You may have seen the commercials touting a National Grid program as an incentive to get rid of an energy-guzzling refrigerator and replace it with a more efficient model.
One of our viewers doesn't understand why the refrigerator you recycle must have been used for at least six months at the time you purchased a new one.
A National Grid spokesperson tells us customers won't see the benefit of replacing an old unit with a new one on their bills if they haven't been using the older model for at least six months prior to purchasing a new one.
