Syracuse, New York (WSYR-TV) - If you're a homeowner, chances are you could use your STAR rebate check right about now. The payment schedule should have been out by early August, but so far, it's nowhere to be found.
The State Department of Finance says the payment schedule should be posted on their website within the next week. The state is just waiting on the last of the town assessors to get their information in, so they can calculate how much you're getting and when.
But here's what you can expect. If you get the basic STAR, you'll likely get a check for the same rebate amount as you did last year.
If you're a senior citizen and get the enhanced STAR, you'll be getting about 40 percent more this year.
The state normally starts mailing them out county by county in the beginning of September through the end of October.
