Solvay Bank and Allpoint ATMs: The Real Deal
Syracuse (WSYR-TV) - Solvay Bank customers received a notice in the mail last month informing them of changes in policy regarding ATM access.
We have The Real Deal on why the bank has discontinued its relationship with Allpoint ATMs and customers can no longer use those for free.
Solvay Bank says the number of Allpoint ATMs in Onondaga County declined by approximately 50 percent in about the last three years. There are about forty of them left.
Also, the company is seeing a decline in ATM usage overall because of the wide acceptance of debit cards for nearly any transaction.
Solvay Bank says it encourages customers to visit a branch, use the company's ATM at the State Fairgrounds, or request "cash back" on your next retail transaction. Otherwise you could incur extra fees.
