Syracuse (WSYR-TV) -- A free Walmart gift card sure does sound tempting, but many of you aren't sure if an offer sent via text message is the “Real Deal.”
Turns out, it’s not. The company says it has seen a recent surge in text messages referring people to a site where they can claim a Walmart gift card by entering personal information. Stay away from this scam and would-be identity thieves because Walmart says it has zero affiliation with these bogus offers.
