Syracuse (WSYR-TV) - Many Central New Yorkers say they've received a mailing from a company called Clear Cast that promises to deliver crystal clear digital television with no monthly bill.
But the Better Business Bureau says Clear Cast’s offering is misleading. And the watchdog group has given Clear Cast an 'F' rating after consumer complaints indicated that the company – which is also known as Brilliant Built Technologies – doesn’t deliver on its promises.
The company claims the consumer just needs to plug Clear Cast into their television in order to pull in 953 shows.
The Better Business Bureau says that Clear Cast offers – at best – 53 channels total.
Because the company claims that its customers can rid themselves of cable or satellite bills – consumers are under the impression they will receive the same type of channeling as with their current provider. That is simply not true. Clear Cast offers a digital indoor antenna, not cable or satellite service.
