Why can’t a Sirius subscription shift to XM? The Real Deal

Syracuse (WSYR-TV) – Sirius satellite radio and XM are now one company, but a subscription to one service can’t be switched over to the other except in very specific circumstance.

The company says if a customer has a lifetime subscription to one service’s automotive receiver, it can’t be transferred unless the receiver was stolen or is defective. For most other plans, SiriusXM says customers can transfer a paid subscription to another radio for a small charge.
